San Luis Obispo Chess Club welcomes you! This site lists regular chess club meetings in San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. We host tournaments and events all over the Central Coast including Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, Atascadero, and Paso Robles. Cal Poly and Cuesta students welcome!

In Paso Robles:
Firestone Brewery has a great cafe area for those North County people looking for casual chess on Friday evenings. Look for the chess players starting around 4PM.
In San Luis Obispo:
Casual chess (clocks are optional) is available on Tuesday evenings at the Whole Foods Cafe area starting around 6PM! Whole Foods is located on Los Osos Valley Road near Home Depot. There is food and drink available for purchase, if desired, but it is not required.
In Morro Bay:
Casual chess is also happening Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the "Big Board" located on the Embarcadero at the west end of Morro Bay Blvd (go down the stairs). Information and directions to Morro Bay Chess Park.
Online:
San Luis Obispo Chess Club is represented online as Play SLO on www.chess.com. Please sign up for a free account and join the team! Chess.com has a number of great features to keep in touch with the local chess community and is appropriate for adults and older children.
Scholastic clubs are happening at a handful of local schools. Contact your school principal to get more information.
